What is Assam Loose Leaf Tea?
Assam tea is from India, the 2nd largest tea producer in the world. Assam, is used in many tea blends including English Breakfast tea.
The loose tea has a strong malty flavour and brews to a lovely red/brown colour.

We're all familiar with the taste of Breakfast tea and Assam is one of the main tea leaves that is blended to produce it.
On its own Assam is strong and malty with a delicious sweet note as you drink it. A great tea to add milk and sugar to.
How to make a cup of Assam Loose Leaf Tea
- Place 1 teaspoon of Assam tea in an infuser.
- Pour over boiling water
- Leave to infuse for 3-5 minutes
- Remove infuser
- Add milk and sugar if you prefer
- Enjoy.
About the Assam tea region.
Our Assam loose leaf tea is from the Phulbari tea gardens, dating back to the 1890's. The Assam area is located in East India, between Burma, Bangladesh, Bhutan and China.
Assam is the most important and grandest growing region because it produces nearly half of all India's tea.
India has the famous Chai Blend that uses Assam to produce the spiced, milky tea.
