Our No.45 Gunpowder Green loose leaf tea is a classic Chinese green tea named for its distinctive pellet-shaped leaves that resemble gunpowder. You'll find this Gunpowder tea features rolled leaves, tea buds and twigs which creates its characteristic bold flavour.

One of China's oldest and most famous green teas, Gunpowder is prized for its robust character and ability to withstand multiple infusions. Popular worldwide for its distinctive appearance and strong, refreshing taste that stands up well to food.

This is the green tea for people who think green tea is too light — Gunpowder has proper presence in the cup. It’s also the base for traditional Moroccan mint tea, where it’s brewed with fresh mint and sugar. Try it that way if you fancy a taste of something different. Brew at 80°C for 2–3 minutes and adjust steeping time to taste.
